The Second International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences

Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, in cooperation with Al-Furatain Foundation for Development and Advancement, University of Baghdad, Al-Qadisiyah University, Ibn Al-Haitham College of Education for Pure Sciences, College of Basic Education at Al-Muthanna University, and Gulf College of the Sultanate of Oman, organized the Second International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences, with the participation of researchers and academics from a number of Iraqi, Arab, and international universities.

The opening ceremony included a recitation from the Holy Quran, the national anthems of the Republic of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the recitation of Al-Fatiha and a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs. This was followed by speeches delivered by a number of academic and scientific figures, including Dr. Ehsan Qabouli, Director of International Relations at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad; Dr. Reza Hosni, Dean of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities at the university; Dr. Firas Abdul Hamid, Dean of Ibn Al-Haitham College of Education for Pure Sciences; Dr. Mohammed Faleh Al-Jubouri, Dean of the College of Basic Education at Al-Muthanna University; and Dr. Hadi Katfan, Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Conference.

The opening session also featured a speech representing Iraqi researchers, delivered by Dr. Fadhil Nahi, a speech by Dr. Mohammed Jaber Al-Aboudi, President of Al-Furatain Foundation for Development and Advancement, and a documentary film about Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and the conference.

According to Eng. Mustafa Al-Abbadi, Head of the Reception Committee of the conference, more than 90 research papers were presented by researchers from various universities and countries. The papers covered several academic fields, including 44 papers in Psychological and Educational Sciences, 28 papers in Literature, Languages and Islamic Sciences, 7 papers in Law and Political Sciences, 8 papers in History and Geography, and 5 papers in Management and Economics.

The conference aims to strengthen scientific and academic cooperation among Iraqi, Arab, and international universities and research institutions, encourage the exchange of expertise and perspectives among researchers, and address contemporary issues and challenges in the fields of humanities and social sciences.
